Destress Yourself with Daily Deep Relaxation Meditation
Article by Elizabeth Stanfill
When it comes to Meditation we must have an open mind and make a commitment if we want change in our lives. When people think of meditation they often think of religion or they think of it as a waste of time. But meditation is the ultimate skill of patience, which gives peace and calm to our minds, bodies, and then to our lives.
Stress causes a racing mind of worry and fear, which is usually on autopilot. When on autopilot we display unwanted emotions like anger, irritability, and moodiness. When our mind is noisy we are unable to fall asleep, stay asleep, and get essential hours of sleep. Other thoughts that may cause disorder in our mind and lives are of what we don

How to Meditate and Unleash Your Genius overcomes many challenges: sleeping problems, chronic illness, high blood pressure, respiratory problems, addiction and depression. Daily irritation, anger, negative self-talk and anxiety go away. Patience, self-acceptance and improved relationships replace those unsettling emotions.
The simple method that Jon and Linda Caswell have been teaching for ten years will change your relationship with your mind. From there, everything in your life gets dramatically better. Students experience a sense of more time, more laughter and more vibrant health.
You won’t find an easier meditation program in the world. No special equipment is necessary, no need to adopt a new belief system, or change your diet, your name or the way you dress. This course reframes meditation into purely Western language and enables busy people to make friends with their thoughts.
The Caswells are masters at overcoming resistance. Their combined 50 years of daily practice really shows in the clear-cut instructions, entertaining stories and easy-to-understand metaphors. Their approach gets around the natural resistance that most people experience when trying something new. If you’ve ever tried to meditate and failed, you will appreciate the clarity, simplicity and humor of this program.
Most people think that meditation means emptying their mind because most meditation books, CDs and teachers give that instruction. The nature of the mind is thought. That’s what minds do, they think. Jon and Linda’s approach has enabled thousands of people to experience the profound satisfaction of thought-watching. The hallmark of How to Meditate and Unleash Your Genius is thought-watching, not thought-stopping. This eliminates the frustration most people experience when trying to empty their minds.
The Caswells share this profound truth: To have peace of mind, you must make peace with your mind. To do that, you have to know what is in there. That’s what you learn in their 28-day course.
This is the perfect answer for people in recovery and in 12-Step Programs. Many students in recovery swear How to Meditate and Unleash Your Genius is the missing Step 11. So if you’ve been looking for a way to practice the 11th Step, look no further.
Meditation is great, but it is the practice of meditation that changes everything. This course, described as genius-level teaching, unlocks the secret of practice – keep it simple. Everything is done in small chunks illustrated with lots of metaphors and stories. Easy to read – easy to digest – easy to practice.
How to Meditate and Unleash Your Genius is the easiest way to improve your life that you will ever find.

There Are Important Health Benefits If You Learn How To Meditate
Article by Trevor Johnson
You can achieve both a heightened sense of self awareness and an altered mental state through meditation. You might be surprised to find out how many forms of meditation there are. If you have ever had a daydream of lost track of your senses while driving a car, these are considered meditation. If you quietly pray, this is also a form of meditation. Continue reading and you will find that there are important health benefits if you learn how to meditate.
Yoga and Tai Chi are more physical types of meditation, but meditation is often combined with both physical and spiritual activities. Any Activity that results in a sense of calming to your spirit and a sense of mental focus to your brain can be considered meditation.
Meditation is not just to promote the mind, it can also heal the body. Studies have looked at its abilities to relieve stress in particular. Meditation has also been used for pain management. Your body goes through both mental and physical changes while you are meditating, all of which are beneficial to you. Not only can it help with your stress, but it can lower your blood pressure.
Meditation has positions that let you be in comfort for a long time. Start by either sitting on a chair, stool, or cushion on the floor. Keep your back straight, and lean your pelvic bone slightly forward. By doing this, it puts your chest and your face in the right positions.
You can use different hand and eye positions based on your own personal beliefs. It varies from eyes fully open, to partially open, to fully closed. It is perceived that different eye positions can bring on a different sense of consciousness. Hand positions also vary and the Buddhist hand positions have right hand on left with thumbs touching.
The legs are usually crossed. They can also be in a position of half or full lotus. Some people like to sit on their heels. Any of these positions is fine as long as you are comfortable.
Probably the most important part of meditating is the mantra. It comes in many forms and is not restricted to any form. All religions use it. You may say a rosary, pray, chant, or even just hum. It is to free the mind, and remove any influence of the world. The reason that it is used in meditation is because the tongue and palate stimulate the brain.
You can decide to perform meditation in many different ways, the most important thing is the benefit to your health. It does not have to be based on a culture or religion. The information above should provide you with enough to start a new journey in your life and learn how to meditate.

Answer by Paranormal Princess
The first thing to do is to start off slowly, only doing about 5-10 minute meditations at first, then working up to making them as long as you want them to last, in order to get into the habit of meditating. The next step is to pick a spot in which to go to to meditate every day (or night), then choose what position is the most comfortable for you to be in. You don’t have to sit cross-legged on the floor to meditate – you can be in any position that is the most comfortable for you.

how to do meditation question by Swee P: How does one learn transcendental meditation?
I want to get in to transcendental meditation. Is there any way I could teach myself how to do this or is it best to be taught by a trained teacher?
how to do meditation best answer:
Answer by DrDeanCrosby
The two best way to learn meditation are:
A.Get personal instruction at a transcendental meditation center. COST = $ 1,500!
B.Receive email instructions from me. COST = FREE!
I’ll print most of my instructions here for you .
1.Go in a room where you will not be distracted by
people,pets or phones.
2.Sit in a straight back chair.Close your eyes,put
your feet on the floor and your hands in your lap.
3.Take very deep slow breaths.
4. Keep focusing on your breaths by trying to
visualize them going in and out of your nose in
the form of a cold weather vapor cloud.
5.Continuously silently repeat your affirmation which can be something like “Jesus gives me peace.”
6.Keep excluding all other thoughts from your mind.
THAT’S AS SIMPLE AS IT IS !
To obtain the maximum benefit, meditate twice a day for 10-15 min.each time
during those times of the day when you have time to be alone and are in need
of some stress relief. However do not meditate close to your bedtime because
it will remove so much of your tiredness that you may have trouble getting
to sleep.

learn meditation techniques question by Sunshine Machine: Can anyone tell me more about chakra meditation?
I’ve been told that most of my chakras are not open at all. I want to try some of the meditation techniques I printed out but with further research I learned that chakra meditation can be dangerous and that there is a difference between the buddhist concept of chakras and the new age one. I was wondering if anyone could give me more information about chakras, what the really are(buddhist as opposed to new age), and opening them. Thank you.
learn meditation techniques best answer:
Answer by \/\/3b |
I’m not sure about the differences between Buddhist and New Age meditations. I did my own thing. However, a lot of New Age teachings are derived from Buddhist and other Far East practices, so you have that.
One book I’d recommend is “Astral Dynamics” by Robert Bruce. It’s more about astral projection, but it goes over a good deal of chakra exercises to help refine your energy control to help you project. Perhaps you could find some answers there. I think scribd.com has an electronic copy you can view for free online.
Other than that, I’d recommend starting with the base chakra first. Stimulating one chakra tends to start activating the chakras above it, causing energy overflows. It’s nothing to be scared of, but this helps to ground and center you, in turn dealing with over-excitation that may occur.
